Just wondering:
when botanists and mycologists, with their advanced names catalogues, want to
proceed with GUIDs, does this mean that we should join before we have even
started with basic steps like ZooBank?
Maybe it's not a bad idea to just wait and observe how happy they will be
with assigning GUID-numbers to all pieces of information, including taxonomic
names.
So far, - at least as far I could observe it from portals like GBIF, - the
GUIDs discussion seemed to be in a state of infancy where even the role of
ICZN, taxonomic concepts, etc. wasn't very clear.
... well, probably I should to get myself updated on the subject (any help
appreciated!) ...

Cheers,
