Daniel,

My apologies. I suspect that you may have posted your message before your
subscription was recognised by the listserver and as a result it was held
for authorisation. I did not see it immediately due to a network problem
with my personal mail so only approved the message for the list some time
later when I was able to confirm that you were subscribed. I must admit that
I was puzzled as to why a message from a subscribed poster had been
rejected. I suspect that your post below may be the explanation.

I tried to post that a few days ago (same day I subscribed to the
listserver) but
it seems not to have gone through as far as I can see. If it did, accept my
apologies for double posting.

I just want to convey some of my first experiences with ZooBank.

I heard about the web-site being on-line on August 8. I submitted that day
two
names from a recent paper with URL link to pdf (Sasakiconcha elegantissima
n. gen
& sp. Geiger, 2006) with a couple of querries:

1) Is "pagination" request for publication or for taxon, taxon-pagination
being a
subset of publication-pagination?

2) How do I correct an error in Zoobank? ZooBank has incorporated a typo
from one
of my pubs (date for publication of Scissurellidae Gray, 1847 [not 1827]).

3) How do I enter names by other authors?

4) How do I view larger lists?

Today, Sept. 3 I received the first reply, telling me how to address 4) but
leaving 1-3 untouched. The new names are not yet available in ZooBank.
GenBank
(which seem to me to be quite a bit more complicated, e.g., checking for
AA's in
coding sequencing) does it usually in a month or less. When I have asked
GenBank
for some help with searches, I received a full reply the next day.

I am seriously underwhelmed with ZooBank. My fears of a sluggish operation
have
been fully borne out.

just my 2c. Best wishes

Daniel
